Dr. Abby Clark

About me

I enjoy working with children through young adults and have experience helping with a variety of concerns. My clients often struggle with mood/anxiety disorders, emotion regulation problems, stressor-related disorders (including a history of trauma), parenting difficulties, or externalizing behaviors (tantrums, disruptive behavior, etc.). My clients typically describe me as kind, funny, and warm.

I focus on clients' personal goals using a variety of treatment modalities including elements of CBT/DBT, behavioral approaches (PCIT and parent training), trauma-informed care, and interpersonal therapy. It's important to me that therapy be a collaborative process. I will work with you to tailor our treatment to you or your child's specific needs, history, and goals for the future. I find it deeply meaningful to collaborate and connect with my clients and take the time to build a trusting relationship. My personal style is positive and empathic but also direct and challenging when needed.

Therapy should be a space where everyone has the opportunity to learn coping skills as well as work to understand patterns of behavior and explore the root causes of emotional, behavioral, and relationship problems.

I love getting to know my clients and seeing the positive changes that occur through our work together! I enjoy and value genuinely connecting with all kinds of people. When I'm not working, I read, cook, spend time outdoors, do yoga, and spend time with family (and pets!).
