Getting Started

What should I expect when I call?

When you call, you'll speak directly with Dr. Lauren Edwards. If you know which therapist you want to work with, Dr. Edwards will connect you directly so you can schedule a first appointment. If you're unsure who might be the best fit or don't quite know what you're looking for, Dr. Edwards can help you figure that out.

What should I expect during my first session?

The first appointment typically lasts 75-90 minutes. The session focuses on gathering more detailed information about your concerns and filling in some history. Your therapist will give you any relevant feedback and discuss ideas regarding a treatment plan moving forward. We typically frame the first 3-4 sessions as "trial period" where we can continue to determine whether or not we are a good fit and refine our goals for therapy. If for any reason we decide not to work together we are happy to provide additional referrals and resources.

Do you offer sessions in-person or via telehealth?

We offer both! We are happy to provide either in-person or telehealth appointments, and you can choose the format that is most comfortable for you personally and meets you and your family's  needs. We completely respect your personal decisions and preferences and will remain flexible about your session format.

In what states are you able to see telehealth clients?

All of our fully licensed therapists have an E. Passport and APIT, which authorizes us practice telehealth across state lines with any PSYPACT participating states.

States in which we are allowed to practice via telehealth include: AL, AZ, AR, CO, CNMI, CT, DE, DC, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, ME, MD, MI, MN, MO, NE, NV, NH, NJ, NC, ND, OH, OK, PA, RI, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WV, WI, WY
